چکیده

Rice sheath blight, a fungal disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani, seriously threatens rice production. Some of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) produced microbes are inhibitory to growth plant pathogen, and hence may have potential as environmentally friendly antifungal substances. However, information on effect VOCs released rhizosphere bacteria R. solani is scarce. In this study, from capable inhibiting via releasing were screened using double Petri dish assay. Headspace solid phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) used identify quantify VOCs. The contributions inhibition estimated constructing random forest model, verified pure compounds. Nine strains (i.e., Pseudomonas sp. No. 3, Enterobacter 26, 34, 35, Ralstonia 50, Bacillus 62, Arthrobacter 146, Brevibacillus 2–18, Paenisporosarcina 2–60) showed various ranged 7.84% 100%, with 50 completely solani. Five benzoic acid ethyl ester, 3-methyl-butanoic acid, 2-ethyl-1-hexanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one) identified model confirmed be toxic when applied chemical compound. particular, 2-ethyl-1-hexanol lethal summary, (Ralstonia 50) (benzoic 2-ethyl-1-hexanol) new resources for biological control blight.

Effect of Non Volatile Compounds of Trichoderma Spp. against Fusarium Graminearum, Rhizoctonia Solani and Pythium Ultimum

Biological control represents an important approach of agricultural biotechnology for controlling many fungal plant pathogens. Trichoderma spp. are the most promising and effective bioagents against many plant pathogenic fungi. In present paper, two strains of Trichoderma aspellerum isolated from soil were screened for their efficacy against some common soil borne plant pathogens by dual cultur...

Novel Chitinase Gene LOC_Os11g47510 from Indica Rice Tetep Provides Enhanced Resistance against Sheath Blight Pathogen Rhizoctonia solani in Rice

Sheath blight disease (ShB), caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani Kühn, is one of the most destructive diseases of rice (Oryza sativa L.), causing substantial yield loss in rice. In the present study, a novel rice chitinase gene, LOC_Os11g47510 was cloned from QTL region of R. solani tolerant rice line Tetep and used for functional validation by genetic transformation of ShB susceptible japo...

Bioactive volatile organic compounds from Antarctic (sponges) bacteria.

Antarctic bacteria represent a reservoir of unexplored biodiversity, which, in turn, might be correlated to the synthesis of still undescribed bioactive molecules, such as antibiotics. In this work we have further characterized a panel of four marine Antarctic bacteria able to inhibit the growth of human opportunistic multiresistant pathogenic bacteria belonging to the Burkholderia cepacia comp...

Xylosylated Detoxification of the Rice Flavonoid Phytoalexin Sakuranetin by the Rice Sheath Blight Fungus Rhizoctonia solani.

Sakuranetin (1) is a rice flavanone-type phytoalexin. We have already reported that the metabolites from the detoxification of 1 by Pyriculariaoryzae are naringenin (2) and sternbin. In this study, we investigated whether the rice sheath blight fungus Rhizoctoniasolani, another major rice pathogen, can detoxify 1. The extract of R. solani suspension culture containing 1 was analyzed by LC-MS to...
